Albert James Spurlock, Sr., was born March 18, 1940 to the late Garnett "Bunder" Spurlock and Fannie Dixon Spurlock in Clinton, LA. Albert was a resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Albert accepted Christ at an early age at Beech Grove Baptist Church in Clinton, LA. He later moved his membership to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Bishop George Pierce in Baton Rouge LA. Albert received his formal education in the East Feliciana Parish School System. He later served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1968. He went on to become Police Officer for Southern University from 1970 to 2000 where he retired as a Lieutenant in 2000. Albert was called from labor to reward Wednesday, July 5, 2017 to cherish his memories; wife tangela Spurlock, 3 sons Kermit Spurlock, Albert J. Spurlock, Jr., and Aubrey Spurlock, a daughter, Tiffany Spurlock, an adopted son Brian Blow, 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren 2 brothers Willie Bernard (Lucille) Spurlock and Edward Spurlock and 4 sisters Delores (John) Davis, Oretha (Eldridge) Johnson, Rose Spurlock and Irma Johnson. 2 neices, and a host of nephews, cousins, other cherished family, and dear friends, including a devoted niece Tangela Matthews-Bradley.
