Annika La'Chay Shanklin was born December 16, 1979 to Karen Shanklin Ruffin and Jessie Bell. She entered into eternal rest on January 24, 2018, at her home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. "Chay" was graciously blessed with 38 years, 1 month and 8 days of life on this earth. She loved her family and really lived her life serving others. "Chay" attended McKinley High School and was very active in the band. She graduated from Istrouma High School May 1999 in Baton Rouge, LA. "Chay" held various positions and was a hard worker during school and after. "Chay" loved music and loved celebrating life with friends and family. "Chay" will forever be remembered and loved by many. Left on this earth to cherish her memories are her parents Karen 'Renee Shanklin Ruffin and Ronnie Ruffin and Jessie Bell; Siblings: Shermika Shanklin Pendergrass (Derick), Ronnie Ruffin, Jr. and Mikal Bennett along with her grandparents and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James Shanklin, Jr. and Mary Jane Shanklin.
