MacArthur passed away at his home in Waxahachie, TX September 4, 2026. He leaves behind his sister, Linda Barrett Clark of Baton Rouge, LA; his children Berlisha Barrett of Addis, LA; Chalanda Maxfield (Kennard) of Waxahachie, TX; Latasha Scott of McKinney, TX; and Marquise Barrett (Nya) of Baton Rouge, LA.

He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Alicia Alexander of Bruly, LA; Tamara Barrett of Addis, LA; Blake Howard of Waxahachie, TX; Chase Maxfield of Waxahachie, TX; Alicia Scott of McKinney, TX; Layla Scott of McKinney, TX; and Marquise Barrett Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA; along with his great-grandchildren Hailee Davis and Harmony Gore of Brusly, LA.

MacArthur is also survived by his goddaughters Antoinette Victor, Sonya Barrett, Delacy O’Bear, and Ava Richardson as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold his memory close
