On Sunday, September 5, 1982 Lois Slaughter-Dominique was blessed with a baby boy. Channing R. Slaughter whom she loved with every fiber of her being and this bond still continues. Channing got an early start in learning about God, Lois made sure of this. He was a member of the North Boulevard Macedonia Full Gospel Church, there he was baptized by the Pastor Clifton Sanford.
Channing attended West Minister Elementary School and graduated from Lee High School in 2001. He later found employment in the health care field taking care of the elderly, he brought lots of joy to their everyday lives and loved him for it. He was a sports fanatic, his favorite teams were the Louisiana State University Tigers and the San Francisco 49ers. He and his father Wendell would sit for hours watching the games on television. Channing had an infectious personality and was loved by family and friends especially his mother, Lois, who made sure he always got the best medical care. Lois spoiled Channing with everything his heart desired, she spared no cost when it came to her only child.
