Born on November 17, 1933 to the late Callener McClendon Chaney and Eugene Williams and reared by the late James Chaney. She departed this life on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City in Baton Rouge, LA. Survived by her three daughters, Jennifer (Edward) Grant of Baton Rouge, LA.; Callener Renee (Terol) Brown of Walker, LA.; and Cassandra (Dexter) Williams of Baker, LA; two sons, Robert (Sherry) Chaney and Dwayne Chaney, both of Baton Rouge, LA; a daughter-in-law, Betty J. Washington of Baton Rouge, LA.; one sister, Lillie Crowley of Denver, Co.; two brothers, Freddie and Archie Williams, both of Baton Rouge, LA; one aunt, Ora Lee Wishom of Texas; four sisters-in-law, Bessie Davis and Lillie Coleman Chaney, both of Baton Rouge, LA and Delorise Chaney and Ethel Lee Porter, both of Greensburg, LA, and Mary Lee Williams; a loving devoted niece, Loretta (Sidney) Chanet of Zachary, LA; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael J. 'Link' Washington, one infant daughter, Shirlyn Marie Chaney; one grandson, Michael J. Washington, Jr., her parents Callener McClendon Chaney, James Chaney and Eugene Williams; five brothers: Hollis, Rufus, Collins, Oscar, Harry Chaney and Eugene Williams Jr.; five sisters, Ruby Chaney (infant), Dorothy Chaney Burton, Mary Lee Chaney Dunn, Georgia Mae Coleman and Mattie Williams Brown.
