Sis. Crystal Pearson-Perry was born on August 6, 1949. She was the first of seven children born to Mabel and Martin Zachary, Sr. Crystal accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Gloryland Baptist Church by the late Rev. John P. Lands. She later in life moved her membership to Greater New Galilee Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Mark A. Litt, Sr. She served faithfully there with one of her beloved sisters, Patsy Z. McKneely
Crystal graduated from Capitol High School at the age of 17 in the year of 1966. She continued her education going straight to college at The Southern University A&M College. There she obtained a Bachelor of Science with her major being Sociology. She worked in her filed of Sociology for several major companies servicing the Baton Rouge Area. In 1969, she met and married her first husband, Jimmie Pearson. Out of this beloved union, she was blessed with two sons: Malcolm (Tanya) Pearson and Brian (Anquinetta) Pearson. She later in life married Leonard Perry in 1999.
Heavens Angels were dispatched to carry Crystal home on August 26, 2020. She is survived by her two sons; five grandchildren: Eshantra, Asia, Neimiah, Lee Ann, and Krystal Ann; one sister, Valarie Zachary; two brothers, Harold (Denise) Zachary and John Zachary, Sr.; beloved brothers and sisters -in-law, Albert (Patsy) McNeely and Marion (Martin, Jr.) Zachary along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and other beloved family and friends.
Crystal was preceded In death by her father, Martin Sr.; mother, Mabel Henderson Zachary; brothers, Barry P. Zachary and Martin Zachary, Jr. and sister, Patsy Marie Zachary McNeely
