Sister Denise Marshall was born December 2, 1959 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Sister Denise Marshall is the baby girl of the late Sister Lena S. Marshall Hills. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late. Reverend Dr. Emmitt Spurlock, Sr. at the Greater Beach Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She later became a member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Errol K. Domingue. Sister Denise Marshall was a graduate of Glen Oaks High School and attended Southern University. The earthly life of Sister Denise ebbed to a close in the early morning hours, 10:00 A. M. on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Our Lady of Lake Regional Medical Center surrounded by her children, sisters, brothers and other family members. Sister Denise Marshall was walking in God''s garden the sun was shining on each blossom. He whispered in a soft voice and said "Niecy" you are tired, follow me and I will give you rest. Sister Denise Marshall was blessed with two beautiful, dedicated children, Tydis and Cody Marshall. She worked most of her life as a laborer, Union 1177 throughout various Petrochemical Plants such as Formosa Plastic Corp., Syngenta, Cosmar, and Bounds Vacuum Service, until her health began to fail. She enjoyed decorating homes most of her life.
Sister Denise Marshall was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and godmother. The commitment, and determination that Sister Denise demonstrated as she carried out her daily duties in life have caused her to be respected, loved, and admired by those people whose lives she has touched. Sister Denise Marshall''s memories will be enshrined in the hearts of her two children Tydis Marshall, Atlanta, Georgia, and Cody Marshall, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; three grandchildren; Isaiah Marshall, Dallas, Texas, Chylen Marshall, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Aliyah Marshall, Atlanta, Georgia; a God daughter, Laila Rankins, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; five sisters, Myrtle Knox, Brenda (James) Smith, Juanita (Mose) Horton, Marine (Elton) Patterson, Cynthia Marchand, all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; six brothers, James (Ivy) Marshall, Bertell Young, Arthur Hills, Clarence Hills, Joseph Hills all of Baton Rouge and Jerry Hills, Houston, Texas; a devoted special friend, Renaldo "Buddy" Pipes, two devoted friends, Theresa Ann Hills, and Vanita "Puckey" Steven, a dedicated niece, Lena Scruggs and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Sister Denise Marshall was welcomed into her eternal home by her mother, Lena Scott Marshall Hills, two brothers, Frank and Earl Marshall, one sister, Pearlena Jackson, and a special friend, Larry Hamilton.
