Eliza Porter Brown affectionately known to her family and friends as " Liza " was born on Sunday, July 29, 1934, to the late Ferdinand and Harriet Etta Porter.
Liza married the late Samuel Brown and to this union seven children were born. Liza enjoyed reading, listening to music, having fun with friends, fishing , sewing, and cooking. She would cook and whoever wanted to eat in the neighborhood, she would feed them. She cooked for the Capitol Senior High School football team every Thursday evening. They always requested her delicious spaghetti.
She leaves to cherish her memories and mourn her loss three daughters: Belinda B. Spears and Deidra D. Joseph of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Terri B. Gage of Grosse Tete, Louisiana; three sons: Michael Brown and Gregory (Dartaula) Porter of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Anthony (Veronica) Brown of Kennesaw, Georgia; one cousin, Albert (Rita) Johnson, 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Liza is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Brown; parents, Ferdinand and Etta Porter; son, Warren Brown; sister, Willie Mae Washington; granddaughter, Cierra Brown; and niece Jacqueline Washington; brother-in-law, Huey Washington; aunt, Georgia Johnson; uncle, Benjamin Johnson; three cousins: Morris Johnson, Benjamin Johnson, Jr., and George Johnson, and uncle, Willie Porter.
