Ernestine Stevenson Wade, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center at the age of 82. She was a native and resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Ernestine dedicated her life to Jehovah God and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She retired from LSU Union, Nursing Care Connection and catered at Boudreaux's Baton Rouge, LA. She also volunteered at the EBR Parish Clerk of Court office. She had a passion for crocheting and would often make and donate blankets for babies at various hospitals and for patients at nursing homes. She had a green thumb and loved and cherished working in her beautiful flower bed. She was famous for her many sayings and wisdom. One of her most well- known saying was "you don't hear me talking to you'. Survived by six daughters and two son-in-laws, Lois (Vernie) . Stafford TX , Claudette (Warren) Williams, Indianapolis, IN, Marie Antoinette Wade, Detroit, MI, Melanie (Eddie) Jones, Houston, TX, Tracey Michelle Wade, Houston, TX and one son, Charles Anthony Wade, Houston, Tx and one sister, Bettie Wessinger, Baton Rouge, LA, one aunt Beaulah Louise Carr, Zachary, LA ., 20 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends Presided in death by father, Willie Stevenson, mother, Elnora Reed, two sons, Kenneth Jerome Wade and Norman Wade, one brother, Lionel "Rock" Stevenson, grandmother, Lodee Reed, three aunts, Mary Elizabeth Parker, Mildred Smith, and Ella Mae Carr. Visitation will be held at Winnfield Funeral Home, 7221 Plank Road, Friday, January 19, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 401 S.22nd Street, Baton Rouge from 11:00 a.m. until the discourse at 12:00 p.m. Interment in the Southern Memorial Gardens, 3012 Blount Road. Winnfield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
