Sister Evelyn Brown Magee was born in Tylertown, Mississippi on June 29, 1931 she was the fourth child to the union of the late Willis Brown and Cora Rose McKelphin Brown. She passed away peacefully, at her home, gained her wings and went to be with our Lord Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Sister Evelyn at an early age, she joined church at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Tylertown, MS. On June 4, 1969 she moved to Baton Rouge, LA and joined True Light Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until her health failed. Sister Evelyn married Roger Magee, Sr. Saturday, September 3, 1949 in Tylertown, MS. and of their union, 9 children were born. 7 daughters and 2 sons. Sister Evelyn's most enjoyable interest was spending time with family and friends, sharing laughs, gardening, sewing, and reading her Bible daily. Sister Evelyn leaves to cherish her precious memories 6 daughters, Audrey Magee, Yvonne Pitts (Marvin Sr.) Shirley Thierry (Val. Sr.) Jaines Magee all of Baton Rouge, LA. Mary Mosley (Joseph) of Chicago, Ill., and Barbara Magee, Minnesota. One son, Lonnie Magee of Baton Rouge, LA., One Step- Son Harold Ellzey of Tylertown, MS.; Two sister-in-laws; Oudia Jones, and Virgina Holmes of Tylertown, MS.; One brother, Wilson Brown of Baton Rouge, LA.; (34) grandchildren, (56) great-grand children, (13) great- great grandchildren ; a devoted loving friend, Monnteryl Batisite, Baton Rouge, LA; a host of family and friends and a wonderful pet, Chico. Preceded in death bu her husband Roger Magee, Sr., One son Roger Donell Magee jr., One daughter, Judy Carol Magee. Her parents, two brothers and five sisters. two grandchildren and five great- great grandchildren.
