Felton Nelson Burks was a kind and caring man, who was always "the life of the party." He loved life to the fullest and was always there to celebrate life with his family. He had a passion for singing and dancing and he loved to share stories of his days as a member of the music group, The Tempo's. Felton recorded two records during the 1970s.
Felton passed away on January 20, 2024, at the age of 82. He was born on May 6, 1941, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to the late Eddie Burks, Sr. and Corine Brooks Burks. In his early adult years, Felton moved to Birmingham, Alabama where he worked as a bartender at the Country Club of Birmingham until his retirement in 2003.
Felton leaves behind to cherish his life lived on earth, his daughter, Khyma Burks, a devoted sister and caregiver, Nancy B. Conrad, sister, Evelyn Roddy, brother, John Burks (Sherry), sister-in-law, Ollie Mae Burks, and lifelong friends, Edward Huey and Lee Tillman. There are a host of relatives and friends that Felton's life touched and will also cherish the spirit in which he lived this life on earth.
Felton was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Burks, Sr. and Corine Brooks Burks, brothers: George Burks, Freddie Burks, Eddie Burks, Jr., and Johnnie Burks; and sisters: Eddie Mae Oliver, Louana Jamison, Octavia Green, Mary Coates, Alice Holliday, and Willie Bee Burks.
