Flora Mae Rogers, born November 29, 1947; she departed from this life on September 21, 2022, after fighting the good fight of faith and finishing her course well. She loved Jesus Christ and accepted him at an early age. She was a lifelong member of the New Hope B. C. of Baton Rouge, La. and was also under the watch care of the Feltus Lazard Memorial State Temple COGIC also in Baton Rouge, La. until here transitioning. Flora is a product of the Louisiana public school system and a graduate of Capital High School, class of 1965.

Born to Lolo Rogers and Luella Deon Rogers. She was one of ten children between the two of them. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt; Officer Rogers was also a devoted civil servant to the city of Baton Rouge where she served and protected on the East Baton Rouge Parish Police Department for forty years. She retired as a Captain on the force.

Ms. Rogers worked for years at Singer Sewing Machine Company of Baton Rouge in the Bon Marche Mall before joining the BRPD. She loved and was extremely dedicated to both her family and her job. Her daughter, son-in-law and beautiful grandchildren were the joy of her life. Flora was proceeded in death by her parents, one son, three siblings, a god daughter, and four nephews. She leaves to live a beautiful life; her only daughter, Kimberly Deshon, and son in law Troy Williams, who cared for her lovingly and tirelessly, four cherished grandchildren, five living sisters, one brother, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who loved and adored her.

Captain Flora Mae Rogers was a warrior and a strong beautiful soul. Her presence and her light will be missed in her family, community and from this earth. However, she will never be forgotten and always greatly loved.
