Florida Barnes Collins received her heavenly wings on February 17, 2020, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on September 10, 1940, the oldest of six children, to the union of Uleyess and Charlotte Barnes. She was a native of Clinton, Louisiana and a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Renee Collins Jones of Baton Rouge, Cassandra Collins of Houston, TX, and Emmett C. Collins, III (Amanda) of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Dortha Dunn (Lee) of Pearland, TX and C. Ann Chapman of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Lyle Collins (Andrea) of Baton Rouge, Ramsey Collins of Baton Rouge, Kourtney Collins of Houston, TX, Skyler Collins of Baton Rouge, and Nicholas Collins of Baton Rouge; six great-grandchildren, Tkyra, Kyran, Kennedi, Dreveon, Layla, and Auna; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
