Sister Geneva Baunchand Butler was born on September 12, 1940, in Batchelor, Louisiana (Pointe Coupee Parish), to the late Ben Baunchand and Elizabeth Washington Baunchand. She peacefully departed this life on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 2:40 a.m., at her residence in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Sister Geneva will be lovingly remembered by her devoted family, including her two sons, Willie Baunchand and Severia Baunchand; her beloved grandson, Courtlin Baunchand; her two brothers, Severia Baunchand and Ben Baunchand; her two extended daughters, Willette Butler and Willita Butler; and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends whose lives she touched with her love, kindness, and unwavering faith.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ben Baunchand and Elizabeth Washington Baunchand; her two brothers, Lemontine Baunchand and Eugene Baunchand; her sister, Lillie Mae Starwood; her son, Timothy Baunchand; and her extended son, Willard Bulter.
