Sister Georgie Mae A. Dawson was born October 1, 1948 in Amite, LA, to the union of Curtis and Thelma Abbott.
Sister Dawson was a graduate of Westdale High in 1966. She furthered her education where she attended Camelot College and received her degree in Computer Science. She was employed by the Housing Authority of New Orleans, LA. Above all she was a loving, caring and giving person.
Sister Dawson served in the Church as an Evangelist, Praise Leader and a member of the Hospitality Ministry and a worshiper. She loved the Lord with all her heart, soul and might. She loved serving the Lord and people of the Lord.
Sister Dawson departed this life on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 10:36pm at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Sister Dawson accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized by Reverend Primas at Mt. Cananon Baptist Church or Roseland, LA. Sister Dawson was converted into full Gospel Holiness, she then became a member of Deliverance Temple Church of God in Christ. She was a true worshiper of the Lord in Spirit and in Truth.
Sister Dawson leaves to cherish her beloved memories, Husband, Henry Dawson. Tow daughters, Thelma (Leonard) Jackson, Tony Rouchon of Baton Rouge, LA. One son Ronald Rouchon of Port Allen, LA. Three sisters, Barbara (Jack) Ringo, Mary (Ruben) Dalton, Mildred (Roosevelt) Harrel. Three brothers Douglas, Odell, and Curtis (Jean) Abbott of Baton Rouge, LA. Eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Curtis Abbott, Sr. and two sons Christopher Smith and Louis Rouchon, Jr. and dearly departed Louis Rouchon, Sr.
