Gertrude "Gert" Allen departed this life, Saturday, August 4, 2018. She was born on December 10, 1941 to the late Daniel and Lillie Mae Allen in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Most would say she was "the sweetest" and the "the glue that kept everything together." She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband: Eugene Moore, Jr.; two sons: Anthony Jerome Thomas and Ron Christopher Allen, Sr. (fiancé, Brittany Allen); her grandchildren: Tabitha Prater, her granddaughter whom she raised on her own as her daughter, Ronnisha Allen, Ron Allen, Jr. and Ronniyah Allen; two great- grandchildren: Lyric Allen and Natalia Allen; three sisters: Irene Ricks, Bertha Singleton, and Barbara Thomas; one brother: Arizona Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Daniel Allen and Lillie Mae James and Mary Ann Allen; and one brother, James Douglas Allen.
