"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, From whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, Which made heaven and earth." Psalm 121:1-2
Momma was called to heaven to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on February 17, 2022, at home with her children by her bedside. Momma was born to the union of the late Henry Scott & Bertha Allen-Scott.
Momma accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior under the leadership of Rev. C. A. Forest. She was married to the late Joseph Gray, Sr. who went home to be with Jesus in 1959 from heart failure. She enjoyed raising her 8 children (5 boys and 3 girls). She was an awesome mom, seamstress, caf owner, caregiver, and loved fishing and gardening.
Momma leaves to cherish her memory four children: Lora Gray, Walter Gray (Tina), Rev. Eddie Gray, and Joyce Gray; 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law: Georgiana Scott (wife of the late Randolph Scott) and Ruth Scott (wife of the late Bill Scott), and a host of nieces and nephews. A very special thanks to her niece, Edna Scott-Alsander and her grandson, Ky Andre Gray, who was always visiting and going above and beyond.
Momma is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, her parents (Henry Scott & Bertha Allen-Scott), husband (Joseph Gray, Sr.) three sons: Joseph Gray, II, Lloyd Gray, and Vernon Gray; daughter (Luzinna Gray), grandson (Kelvin Gray), and four sisters: Edna Scott, Acee Scott, Maggie Scott-Holmes, Elma Scott, four brothers: Bill Scott, Doughtery Scott, Randolph Scottt, Henry Scott, and Clyde Scott.
