A native and resident of Baton Rouge, LA. She made her transition to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Zachary Manor Nursing Center, at the age of 72. Visiting at Israelite Baptist Church on Saturday, August 28, 2021, from 10:00 am until religious service at 11:00 am., conducted by the Rev. Donald R. Sterling. Interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survived by daughter, Caronda S. (Brett) Bean of Zachary, LA; sons, Corey (Karen) Bowers; Orlando, Florida, and Christopher Sanders.; three sisters, Joyce E. Bowers, Dianna G. Bowers, and Kyle B. (Reuben) Brown all of Baton Rouge, LA; eight brothers, Joseph L. (Sharon) Bowers, Thomas E. (Debra) Bowers, Jeffery D. Bowers, Kirk L. Bowers, Royce O. (Dawn) Young, Landis M. Young, Eric D. Young all of Baton Rouge, LA, and Boyce O. (Yolanda) Young of Houston, TX. Eight grandchildren; Tevin Bowers, JaVonte Barnes, Christopher Corey and Elijah Sanders, Chakeirra Towels, Gwennisha Gibson, Cheridan Sanders, Caelyn Zeno and Bria Bean. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Johnnie "Smokey" Sanders; parents, Andrew S. Bowers, Sr. and Ethel Lewis Bowers; grandmother, Louise Sterling; grandfather, Author F. Lewis; granddaughter, Chelsey Sanders; grandson, Corey Sanders; brother, Andrew S. Bowers, Jr; and sister, Myrtis Bowers.
