IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jakobe Sacario
Knox
December 13, 2002 – June 6, 2025
It is with both deep sorrow and overwhelming love that we announce the homegoing of Jakobe Sacario Knox, beloved son, brother, grandson, friend, and light to all who knew him. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and residing in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed from this world into eternal rest on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the age of 22.
Jakobe was known to many as "LuckiboiCari," a name that spoke not only to his easygoing nature and charisma but to the way he carried joy into every room he entered. His life was a canvas of brilliance — from his early intellect and sharp mind, to his innate gift for music, writing, art, and athletics. Reading at an early age, solving complex math problems before most could multiply, Jakobe Sacario Knox embodied a level of excellence that was rare and awe-inspiring.
He was an aspiring student of robotics and engineering and could hand-draw anything his mind envisioned. His hands worked magic. His mind saw systems. His heart recognized the pain in others — and worked quietly to heal it.
In Santa Fe, New Mexico, Jakobe shined as a star athlete in both basketball and tennis, playing at levels far beyond his age. But beyond all talent, his greatest victories were won off the court — spending weekends during middle and early high school feeding the homeless through the family church, offering his smile, his help, his humanity.
To know him was to feel the warmth of a divine light. He carried a sacred sense of timing — showing up for people in their darkest hours and helping them remember they were still here, still worthy, still loved. Everyone knew him. Everyone loved him. He was "home" in human form.
His life was not without challenges, but in all these things, Jakobe was more than a conqueror through Him who loved him. (Romans 8:37) His spirit refused to be dimmed. And now, even in his absence, his light has not gone out — it has only expanded.
Jakobe Sacario Knox leaves behind: his loving mother, April Dukes Bell; stepfather, Ronnie Bell; father, D'Angelo Knox; stepmother, Ashley Knox; three grandmothers: Sharon Ryan, Gloria Parker, and Carrie McCall; two grandfathers, Kenneth Dukes and James Parker; six siblings: Christian Knox, Tyler Mellion, Camari Knox, Amiaya Bridgewater, Brayden Knox, and Ronnie Bell II; two great-aunts, Cheryl Dukes and Shelia Dukes; one great-uncle, Charles Thomas; aunts, Stacey Parker and LaTasha Sanford; uncles: Edwon Richardson, D'Shaun Ryan, and Darnell Parker; godmother, Danielle Carter; and god sister Hailey Brooks.
He also leaves behind a circle of brothers in heart: Michael Thomas, Jeremiah Bell, Derrick Johnson, Edward Dykes, Jr., Jayden Allen, Sr., Dereon Holiday, and Jamon Wesley II — each of whom carried, laughed, and stood beside him like family.
Jakobe is preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Robert Stewert; great-grandmothers Mildred Coates and Johnie Lee Dukes; and great-uncles Joshua Washington and Clyde Ophia Washington (Uncle Sonny).
To Remember Him
Jakobe Sacario Knox's life was a sermon. His joy was not borrowed — it was native. His laughter echoed like medicine, and his presence felt like prophecy. He did not live long, but he lived true, and fully, and with heaven in his eyes.
In his honor, we don't say goodbye — we say "thank you."
Thank you for the light.
Thank you for the music.
Thank you for loving without limits.
Thank you for showing us what it means to be more than a conqueror — even in the face of it all.
May we walk with his memory like a lamp in the night.
May we see ravens now and know:
"He is near."
