James, age 81, native of Batchelor, LA, and a long-time resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, departed this life on December 15, 2017 at The Care Center Nursing Home of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. James was born to the late Thomas and Evelina Pursley of Lettsworth, Louisiana. James was retired from Georgia Pacific in Port Hudson and still working at Greater King David Baptist Church until he was hospitalized in November.
