John Payne was born February 14, 196, in Pineville, LA to the late Alfred Hall and Orangell Payne. John transitioned to eternal life on June 30, 2018 at 51 years of age. John was baptized at an early age by the late Bishop Albert Moses of Greater St. Michael Spiritual Baptist Church of Baton Rouge, LA. John was educated by the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.
John leave to cherish his memories a loving daughter Joy Simmons and two grandchildren; Janiyah Lewis, Rodney Kelly, III all of Baton Rouge, mother Orangell Weir of Baker, LA; three sisters, Stephanie Payne of Baker, LA; Bobbie Faye Hausey of Prairieville LA, Ivory Carey (Kelvin) of Zachary, LA.; three brothers, Kevin and Marshall Payne both of Baton Rouge; Alfred Hall of New Orleans, LA.; two uncles, Kestee Weir, Jr. (Corine) of Baton Rouge, LA., Thomas Weir of Zachary, LA..; two aunts Ruby Richard of Denham Springs, LA.., and Gloria James of Harvey, LA.., and a devoted friend Bertha Wells. He also leaves six nieces, two nephews, four great nieces; three great nephews and a host of family and friends.
John always had an uplifting word for everyone who crossed his path. He always quoted John 14:1; "Let not your heart be troubled; ye believed in God believe also in me…"
John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kestee Weir Sr., and Eliza Payne; His father and brother, his aunts, Gracie Wells, Bonnie Hayes, Lueida Weir; aunt and uncle, Thelma and Eugene Hutchins; a niece, Yashieka Hausey; a nephew, Elvin Carey; and brother in law, Willie Hausey, Jr.
