Larry Arteal James, Sr., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at the age of 70, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Larry was born on June 29, 1949. He was the son of Henry and Audrey James. Larry is a graduate of the 1967 class of McKinley High School. He retired from Baton Rouge General Medical Center (Mid-City). He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carrie Mae James; three sons, Larry A. James, Jr. (Sarah); Eric C. James, both of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Lawrence Bickham (Kristen) of New Orleans, Louisiana; four granddaughters; Brianna, Paris, Leah and Lakin; two sisters; Linda James and Sandra Reese of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey James and father, Henry James, Sr., and brother, Henry James, Jr. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Winnfield Funeral Home, 7221 Plank Road. Funeral services will began at 10:30 a.m. for immediate family and close friends. Burial will follow in the Winnfield Memorial Park.
