Chastang, LaVerna Theresa was born September 21, 1951 and passed away August 21, 2019 at her home in Baker, LA. She is a State of Louisiana retiree having worked at both the LA Dept of Health and Hospitals as well as Southern University's College of Education. She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Edwin (Karen) Chastang of Baker, three grandchildren, Asbin, Erin and Eli; 5 Sisters, 3 brothers, and a host of other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in state at Winnfield Funeral Home located at 7221 Plank Road Baton Rouge LA 70811 on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Another viewing will take place on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. funeral at Reese Funeral Home located at 925 Bessemer Avenue, Prichard, AL 36610.
