ECCLESIASTES 3:1-2, 4 To every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the Heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die…..A time to weep and a time to laugh….. Mable Denise Bell-Gistand was born on March 20, 1964 in Independence, LA to the union of Ulysses and Celestine Bell. Denise departed this life to be with our Savior, Friday, September 6, 2019 at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center on Bluebonnet. Denise accepted Christ as her Savior, and was baptized at an early age by the late Rev. Lee Snowden Pastor of First Alpine Baptist Church Baton Rouge, LA. She was a faithful member of The Cherubim Choir and served as its musician Denise resided in Atlanta, GA, for over15 years where she was employed by Dr. Scwartz, Bone and Joint Clinic. Denise returned to Baton Rouge, LA and was employed by The NeuroMedical Center as a surgical specialist until God called her home. Denise, affectionately called (Pastor D) was ordained in October 1998 and served as Pastor of New Beginnings Healing Center and Resurrection Faith Believers Christian Center, Atlanta, Georgia. Upon returning to Baton Rouge she joined New Covenant Christian Center Baton Rouge under the leadership of Bishop Michael Smith. Denise was a devoted prayer warrior, dedicated to serving God's people. Denise was a graduate of Istrouma High School, after high school she earned an Associate Degree in Nursing pursing her lifelong career in the medical field. Denise (known by her family as Nannie, or Neicey) leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter; Toniyetta Jarrett-Rogers (Kyrus); two grandsons, Kyrus Jr.and Kameron Rogers, four granddaughters Kyraisha, Kristen, Kiyetta and Kamiyah Rogers all of Baton Rouge, LA; two brothers Ulysses Bell Jr. (Sandee) of Lake Charles, LA and Charles R. Bell of Baton Rouge, LA; one loving sister; Renetta Ann Bell of Baton Rouge, LA; a faithful and devoted aunt and godmother; Louise Washington; one sister-in-law; Juanita Jackson-Lewis of Baton Rouge, LA; nephews; Edward Keywond Sheppard of Houston, TX, Raymond Logan Bowen of Katy, TX; Mark Bell whom she reared, Charles BellJr. (CJ) of Baton Rouge, LA, Cedric Menton, Lubbock, TX, Jerome Bell, New York, Christopher & Ulysses Bell III (Trey), Lake Charles, LA, nieces; Jada Harris, Shameka Thomas-Williams, Tina Bell, Janet Bell, Davina Walls-Craig all of Baton Rouge, LA; Mirah Bell of Lake Charles, LA; and Jasmine & Jamilla Lee of Atlanta, Georgia; paternal uncles; Robert (Louvenia), Willie, Charles Lee (Joan), Alex (Patri), McAurthur (Millie) Bell all of Baton Rouge, LA; maternal uncles Roosevelt Sr. and James Birks (Nancy) both of Baton Rouge, LA; paternal aunts; Henrietta, Myrtis, Lavone Bell, and Bertha Hill all of Baton Rouge, LA, Emma and Ethel of Natchez, Mississippi; Godchildren: Keywond Sheppard, Raymond Logan Bowen, Amber and Aaron Adams, a special friend; Tyrone Shillow of Baton Rouge, LA; Brian Gistand her ex-husband who she held dearly to her heart, and a host of relatives and friends. Denise was preceded in death by her parents Ulysses Bell, Sr. and Celestine Bell; paternal grandparents Willie Bell, Sr. and Ethel Fields; maternal grandparents Leon and Mabel Birks; grandchild Kyrus Jarrett; paternal aunts, Sarah B. Johnson, Susie Wright, Audrey Bell-Jarvis; maternal aunts and uncle, Carrie and Leroy Brady, Dolie Birks; paternal uncle St. Paul Bell; paternal aunt Doris Bell; nephews Brandon Augustus and Juan Lewis; niece, Tina Brown; cousin Eric Birks; best-friend Irish Augustus-Scott.
