Obituary

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4 Mack Roy Thomas Sr. was called form labor to reward on Thursday January 20, 2022 at Baton Rouge General Hospital at 6:30 p.m. He transitioned peacefully into paradise with a smile. Mack Roy was born on December 13, 1927, in Gold Dust, Louisiana to Tannie and Lem Thomas Sr. whom he loved and honored, working on the family farm to help support his parents. Mack was educated in Gold Dust LA, and continued to high school in Bunkie La. With his twin sister, Maxine. At an early age he accepted Christ into his life and attended services with his parent and sibling faithfully. Later in life Mack was Baptized in the Jehovah Witness Faith and witness faithfully sharing the love of God to all he met. He later joined his twin sister in Baton Rouge La. where he met and married the love of his life Gwendolyn Jenkins July 25th, 1950. Shortly after wedding, Mack was drafted into the Army where he was shipped overseas to fight in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. He prayed a prayer while in the fox hold. "Lord bring me home safely to my family and I will serve you". God granted his request, and He kept his promise. Mack and Gwendolyn raised a family of 9 children. Mack enjoyed family vacations and boating on the river with his wife & children. He enjoyed fishing with friends and visiting his sibling. He could take a car or truck motor apart and put it back together like knew, a real Cadillac man the only car he would drive. He worked as a skilled construction supervisor for Exxon for years before retiring from River Bend Nuclear Plant in St. Francisville La. at the age of 62. He also retired from Local Union 1177. Mack was preceded in death by his parents Tannie Bradley Thomas and Lem Thomas Sr., his wife Gwendolyn Thomas, three sons Mack Roy Thomas Jr., Jarvorah Thomas & Roderick Thomas.
