Maggie Jeanette Mitchell was born on October 7, 1951 to the parents of Margenous Moon and Phyllis Butler in the city of Cherokee, South Carolina. She departed this life on Thursday, November 16, 2017 in her home due to lung cancer.
She attended McKinley Senior High School and was devoted worker at Hampton Inn for 26 years, where she retired.
Maggie was survived by her mother Phyllis Butler of New Jersey, a stepmother, Patsy Moon, two devoted sons, Anthony Mitchell (Elizabeth Lanieu) and Willie (Jenean) Mitchell III. Five loving grandkids; Willie Mitchell IV, Jardae Z. Mitchell, Akyraia J. Mitchell, A'shaye J. Mitchell and Anthony J. Mitchell Jr.; one sister, Vickie Brown (Donald) of Kissimmee, Florida; two step sisters and one step brother; special friend Roderick Batiste; loyal friend, Barbara Lipton and beloved best friend, Sharon Johnson. Maggie is also survived by three brothers-in-law, three sisters in law, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father, Margenous Moon and grandmother, Annie Bell Moon.
