Marcia quietly slipped away into the arms of God at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois on October 17, 2021, following a long battle with many medical issues including metastatic breast cancer. She was the eldest of three children born on December 5, 1955 in Springfield, Illinois to the late Theodore, Jr. and Bennie Softley. At the age of five, she relocated to Chicago. She graduated from Mercy All Girls Catholic High School in 1971. She attended Spellman and Tuscaloosa Colleges, then returned to Chicago which she loved with passion. She met Mr. "Steve" in 1987 and married in 1990. She worked in the mental health field as an aide until 2011. Marcia had many hobbies including shopping, dining, traveling, attending movies and concerts. Marcia leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Steve Harris; sister Dr. Teddi Softley-Wilson and her husband Dr. Clarence Wilson , Jr. of Rancho Cucamonga, CA , Sean Softley and his wife Cassius Softley; a sister and law, Bobbie and her husband; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents Theodore Jr and Bennie, uncles Hilary and Van Marcia was a dedicated wife, sister, sister-in-law, auntie, cousin and friend!!! We will truly miss her!
