Maria Pointer Gunn, was born in Jonesboro La. She was a native of Winnfield La, but resided in Baker La. She was the first child to the union of Prince and Delores Pointer. She attended Winnfield Senior High in Winnfield, LA & Graduated from Judson High in Converse, TX. Maria continued her Education at San Antonio College (SAC) in San Antonio, TX. Maria enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, music, traveling, and Annie Lee puzzles. She was a huge Football & Basketball fan and a die heart fan of Cam Newton, of the Carolina Panthers. She was a very good listener and would always encourage with the word of God. Maria leaves to cherish her memories: Her father Prince Pointer (Sharon), four (4) children: Manita Pointer (Gary), Travion Pointer, Travis Gunn (Michelle) and Marlon Gunn (Marleen), all from Baton Rouge LA. Ten (10) siblings: Moe Pointer (Delores), Kara Johnson (Jerome), Phillip Pointer, Cornelius Pointer, Curtis Pointer, all from Baton Rouge LA. Debra Gibbs of Winnfield. Patricia Gibson of San Antonio TX, Bruce Gibson of Houston TX, Thomas Gibson Jr. and Anthony Gibson, both of St. Peters, MO. Seventeen (17) grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Maria was proceeded in death by her mother Delores Pointer, biological father Thomas Gibson Sr., maternal and paternal grandparents.
