Mary Lou Dabney, 88 was born on December 8, 1929 to the late Love Johnson and Gertrude Barfield in Cheneyville, Louisiana.
Mary was a long time resident Baton Rouge, LA. She met and married the late Aaron Dabney, Jr. and to this union thirteen wonderful children were born. Mother Dabney was a woman of true courage and wisdom; she was a homemaker that tended to her loving husband and wonderful children.
Mary accepted Christ as her Personal Savior at an early age and united with the North Boulevard Macedonia Full Gospel Ministry, Baton Rouge, LA. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, a baker who made Pecan candy, cooking and playing a good game of spades.
She is survived by her twelve children, Bettie (Julius) Chambers, Linda Moore, Donald Ray Dabney, Charles Dabney, Aaron Dabney, Frederick (Kathleen) Dabney, Jasper Dabney, Mary Dabney, Lisa Dabney (Ben) Gross, Latasha (Johnta) Hebert, Latonia Dabney and Chantel Dabney; sixty-two grandchildren; fifty-nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Love Johnson and Charlie Johnson; special nephews whom she considered her own, Wayne Dabney, James Holloway, Keith White and Robert Sullivan, Jr.; special cousin she considered as her sister, Gloria "Daisy" Ingram; special neighbors, Tony Ray James, Carla Grinner and Randal Jolla and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mary was proceeded in death by her parents, David Snowden and Lessie Barfield Snowden; her daughter, Donna Dabney; her son, Byron Dabney; her grandson, John Coates; two brothers, Lewis Johnson and Robert Sullivan, Sr.; three sisters, Ellen Johnson, Gertrude Rainey and Loubertha Johnson-Holloway, her mother-in-law, Gladys Dabney and her father-in-law, Aaron Dabney, Sr.
