IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael
Alexander
July 8, 1985 – December 20, 2022
Michael "Mike Jones" Alexander, 37, of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away unexpectedly on December 20, 2022. Mike was born on July 8, 1985, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Michael and his sister Tekisha "confessed with their mouths, the Lord Jesus and believed in their hearts that God raised him from the dead" (Romans 10:9) as their path to salvation began when young. As a result both were baptized at Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was his spiritual life that laid the foundation for all the love and concern he expressed to countless others.
He was a practical joker, generous heart of gold, never hesitating to help people out. He was always the life of the party. He was known for his friendliness and never hesitated to let people know that he loved them. He was a die hard Saints and LSU fan. Mike was larger than life with an infectious smile that would light up every room. Mike was a hard worker. He made many friends which later became family and earned the respect of so many of his peers.
Mike attended high school at John Ehret High School and graduated in 2004. He participated in several activities, but wrestling was his passion. Mike was the 2003 LHSAA wrestling state champion at 140 pounds and the state tournament Most Valuable Wrestler. He was a 4 time district champion, the first wrestler to ever win district 4 times for Ehret.
Mike was employed at the Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he served dutifully. Mike was a very hard worker. He was described as dependable, efficient and always went out his way to exceed over and beyond the call of duty. He was awarded "Hardest Worker" and was up for promotion. Mike was a jack of all trades. He was a father, brother, nephew, son, cousin, godchild, friend, teacher, confidante, maintenance man, deckhand, bowler, custodian, coach, trainer, wrestler, wrestler, wrestler and wrestler. Did I mention, he was a wrestler? When Mike wasn't working, he was watching sports, movies, hanging out with family and friends, talking about wrestling, performing wrestling moves, hanging out with friends, and always again, talking about wrestling. But above anything else, he mostly expressed his love and how proud he was of his daughter, Adelina.
Michael is predeceased by his mother, Carlean Alexander, his father, Michael Gooden, his uncle, Herbert Alexander Jr, maternal grandparents, Herbert and Patsy Alexander, and his nanny, Doris Ponson. Left to cherish his memory are his beautiful daughter, Adelina, his two sisters Tekisha and Janell Alexander and their children Kalaysha, Carlean, Michael, Serenity and Kingsley, his uncle Derrick (Tiffany) and their children, Quinzel, Devin, Nubian and Harper, his aunt Tramaine (Melvin) and their child Malachi, Roxanne Ponson (Sean Ogden), Alphonse Jr. (Ashley) Ponson, Robert (Vanorah) Ponson, and Randy Ponson along with a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many amazing friends who were like family to him.
