'Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.' 2 Timothy 4:8 Brother Roger Wells, Jr. peacefully departed this life on February 10, 2021 in the comfort of his home surrounded by close family and friends. Roger was born February 16, 1942 to the union of Roger Wells, Sr. and Ethel R. Wells in Woodville, Mississippi. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Roger was a member of New Gideon Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana until his health failed him. He was a successful entrepreneur of T.C.'s Auto Salvage for over 40 years. Bro. Wells married Florence Wade Wells, in 1960, to this union 3 children were born. In 1980, he met Annie Ruth Cage, with whom he spent the remainder of his life with, to that union 4 children were born. Rogers leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted life partner Annie Ruth Cage, four children: Andrew L. Cage (Monika), Annie M. Cage, Sharon Cage (Philip), and Samantha Cage Nunnery (Willie), 14 grandchildren: Jacoya, Brittany, A'Darian, Miracle, Dedrick, Tiphanie, A'Ronde, Sha'Kyra, Willie, Ta'Kira, Ta'Layjah, Ja'Kobe, Tristan, and Treveon, 3 great-grandchildren: De'Vonte, Zacoby, and Maysen, three brothers: Jerome Wells (Alana), J.R. Wells (Carolyn), Rev. Benny Veals (Ella Lee), two sisters: Alean Johnson all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Pinkie Young of Los Angeles, California, three brother-in-laws, three sister-in-laws, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Roger was proceeded in death by his parents, Roger Wells, Sr. and Ethel R. Wells, his brother Willie L. Wells, sister Dinah Fisher, three children: Ethel Wells, Regina Wells, Roger Wells, III, and two grandchildren: Ja'Marcus and Ta'Laysha Nunnery.
