Warmhearted, fun loving,man of God, Ronnie T. Edwards went home to be with the Lord in his sleep in the wee hours of the morning on February 14, 2022. Ron had been severely weakened by a long-term existence of kidney failure and diabetes, among other things. Even with health issues, he was always on the battlefield for the Lord. He ministered words of encouragement and peace and talked about the love of God and about salvation through Jesus anywhere he went and to anyone he met. Ron was born in North Carolina and raised in Washington, DC where he spent many years as an Investigator for the Department of Human Services Child Support. In the latter years of his life,he transplanted himself to Baton Rouge with his family. Ron was the loving father of one son, Maurice (living in Washington,DC)and two daughters, Traci Gonzalez (Gleniz) and Dawn Smith(Lester). He was the devoted husband of his native Baton Rouge and wife Mary for 44 years. Gone before him are his grandmotherMae, mother-Callie, two brothersCharles and Ricky,and a brother-in law-Alfred. Left to celebrate him and cherish the memories of his life, are his wife and children, sons-in law,sisters Mary Ann and Arabella (Bea),one brother-Otto and grandchildrenZyzenti, Shy, Lester, Iriz-Tryst, Nalister, Mikaela, Treyron,King and six others.Ron will be frequently remembered and greatly missed The Edwards family ask that you continue to keep them in your prayers at this difficult time.
