Roosevelt Turner was known as Sam to close siblings and to his children's friends, Pepper Sausage. He was born February 18, 1933 to the late Johnny and Irma Turner. He departed this life on December 21, 2017 in the comfort of his own home. After his discharge, he returned to the United States and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Southern University. He went on to teach in the EBRP School System for over 30 years. Mr. Turner also, for years, worked as site director for BREC Commission and Park Recreation. He married his teen sweetheart, the late Dorothy Harrell Turner and was committed and devoted to her for 60 years in marriage until her death in 2017 where she passed in the comfort of her home. Mr. Turner battled for over nine years after an aneurysm, but he was strong and he fought a good fight. Mr. Turner finished his course for 84 blessed years. He kept the faith.
