Long-time Baton Rouge resident and native of New Orleans, Sis. Ruby Walker Smith passed on March 5, 2021. She was a retired civil servant, real estate broker, and entrepreneur. She is survived by her children, one son, Garrick (Katherine) and two daughters, LaRhonda (Tap), Shameika (Ronzelle); her grandchildren, Kennedy Williams, Jordan Williams, Trey Williams, Myles Smith and Micah Smith; her sisters Ethel Cryer (Charles), Helen Walker, Barbara Rogers and Sylvia Walker, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie L. Smith; grandparents, Ether and Walter Smith; parents, Genevia and Walter Walker, Sr.; brother, Walter Walker, Jr. and sister, Betty Jean Walker. Sis.
