Obituary

Ryan Joseph Keller died at home unexpectedly on August 8, 2023. Ryan was born on January 16, 1978.

He was the son of Jim and Suzanne Keller of Prairieville, and Jan and Michael Becnel of Brusly.

Ryan is survived by two children he loved dearly, Chase James Keller of Temple, TX and Emma Louise Keller of Owensboro Kentucky. He is also survived by one sister, Rebecca Dupuy (Adam), and three brothers, Andrew Keller (Tammy), Grant Becnel (Chasidy), and Hunter Becnel (Callie), and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and special friends.

Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Louise (GG) Keller, Adam & Joy Gautreau, and a brother, Philip Aaron Keller.

Ryan graduated from Christian Life High School in 1996 and attended Southeastern University for a year, before enlisting in the United States Army. He achieved the rank of Staff Sargent and earned an associate's degree while in the Army, where he specialized in bio medical instrument services. He served two tours in Iraq, and received The Army Commendation Medal for Exceptional Service while serving in the First Cavalry Division of the United States Army. Ryan worked for contractors at various hospitals in Texas in medical equipment services, then moved back to Louisiana and worked in the marine coating industry for several years before returning to medical equipment services lastly at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, and St Elizabeth's Hospital in Gonzales.

Ryan loved golf and working out. And despite a brain injury three years ago, he was resuming both of those activities. Getting back on snow skis was to be next. Ryan was active in Wounded Warriors Project events.

A graveside service with Father Frank Utter will be held October 17, 2023 at the Galvez Cemetery at 17081 Carpenter Chapel Rd Prairieville, Louisiana at 11 am, with internment of his ashes next to his beloved GG. Following the services, family and friends are invited to the home of his godmother, Cheryl Achee, 14206 JD Broussard Rd. Gonzales, La 70737 to celebrate Ryan.

Ryan was a lovable and friendly man with a very beautiful smile for everyone. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, in his name.
