Shirley Goins Promise was born October 24, 1940 to the late Fred and Emma H. Goins in Tunica Louisiana. Shirley was the Beloved wife of Glancer Promise for over 56 year ans this union was blessed with one son; Eric Promise. Shirley was a woman of great honor and integrity, respected and loved by her family and friends. Though short in stature, she was known to speak her mind, she said what she meant and meant what she said. Shirley's love and commitment for her family and friends was undeniable. Her love and passion for keeping her yard well manicured, by panting flowers and growing vegetable gardens was visible to everyone who visited or just passed by her home. Shirey's life was the epitome of Virtuous Woman, who was graced by God with much wisdom. Her love for God and His Word were the foundation of her life. Shirley accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was an active, faithful member of Living Faith Christian Center until her health declined. Shirley life will be cherished by her devoted husband Glancer Promise, son Eric Promise, grandson Darryl Robins (whom she reared), and Derrick Robins all of Baton Rouge.
