Obituary

Stanley Sylvester Scott, Jr. affectionately known as Man, was born July 6, 1953 in Denham Springs, Louisiana to Freddie Mae and late Stanley Scott Sr. He departed this life on February 16, 2018 in the care of his loved ones. He worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for 28 years in Prince George County school system as well as Ministerial support for Maple Springs Bptist Church in Capitol Heights, MD. he loved his profession and the people he worked with. In each area he worked, he served with passion and diligence. Man was baptized in the Amite River at the age of 6 by the late Pastor John Anderson of the Mount Hope Baptist Church in Denham Springs, LA. In his adult years, he later joined and remained a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church where he served and supported the church in various ways. His Christians faith was personified in the love and devotion shown to God, his church, and his family. He will always be remembered by his boisterous laughter that filled the room. He never met a stranger. man was very popular and well-liked by all his social circles. He spent lots of his spare time with his second love the Washington Red Skins. man was known by his family and friends for nothing less than his hi-spirited joking yet comical behavior, and his mischievous and playful mannerisms. His love for his family and friends was nothing but genuine and true. Man leaves to cherish his sweetest memories, his beloved mother Freddie Mae Lamb, his seven daughters: Robin Scott; Jan Holmes (Ralph); and Stacy Scott all of Baton Rouge, LA; Shamirrah Washington, Sabrina Scott, Samantha Scott, and Kayla Colter all of Capitol Heights, MD. He leaves eight siblings Theresa Conerly of Baltimore, MD., Willie Stewart, Carolyn Spears (Gregory), of Baton Rouge, LA., Lolitha Scott of Prarieville, LA, Michael King (Carol) Sybil Scott and Andrea Cunningham (Randall) all of Baton Rouge, LA. He leaves 10 grankids: Brittany and Brianna Scott, Alexandria, Ralph, and Madison Holmes, Xavier Mays, Kaunyia and Jamaine Harvey all of Baton Rouge, LA. In addition he leaves to cherish his two great-grandkids: Dallas and Houston Williams of Baton Rouge, LA. Man also leaves his God mother, sister and son Maceon Lewis, Tawanda Garrett and Vernon Shannon, all from Baltimore, MD., who he cherished and loved dearly. Man was preceded in death by his father Stanley Scott, Sr., grandmother John Ella Stewart, brother Jerome Stewart, sister Annie Marie Rogers, aunts Beulah Brooks, Sally Moore, Edna Grayer, Asleane burch, Isaac Moore, Joe Charles Stewart and Mary Stewart Dabney.
