OUR BELOVED BUTTERFLY Tanya "MS. T" Paul Shellmire 49 years old, passed away on February 19, 2021 morning at The Crossing Hospice. Tanya was baptized Catholic at St. David Catholic Church where she served on the usher board and sung in the choir. She attended Alfred Lawless Senior High of New Orleans, LA and was the first Female Drum Major in the band and knew how to play all instruments. She was a caretaker of her mother Lynette and loved helping & caring for others. Born in the 9th ward New Orleans, LA, she was the daughter of Mrs. Lynette E. Hamilton and the late Mr. Harold Hamilton Jr. She loved cooking, laughing, dancing, singing, watching Roy Jones box, playing the piano & spoiling kids in the community with snacks. She will be remembered by cracking jokes, frightening her kids with scary stuff, always showing up for others, hating on her home team (New Orleans Saints), but in her words, "THE AINTS", dancing to music, supporting her kids with excitement and a burst of joy. She is survived by Fionn Paul, LaTanya Shellmire, Iyanna Shellmire, Cyril Shellmire. Extended family children LaSean Burns, Lawrence Giovanni Jawun Giovanni, Miante Spriggs, and Melvin Shellmire. Grandchildren Farrah Paul, Cassey White, Casey White III, Cassen White Predeceased by her father, Juanita Paul, Melvin Paul, Oscar Gillard, Lavern Shellmire, Louis Stevens, and Blanche Dukes. The memorial service will be held on March 5, 2021 located at Winnfield Funeral Home 7221 Plank Rd, Baton Rouge Louisiana with a private burial. The viewing will be held viewing from 10:00am-11:30am and service at 12pm.
