IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dr. Tommy Oscar
Linton, Jr.
October 7, 1939 – February 11, 2026
Dr. Tommy O. Linton, Jr., Pastor
On February 11, 2026, at 12:12 PM, Tommy Oscar Linton, Jr., a devoted servant of the Lord and steadfast pillar in the Baton Rouge faith community, answered the Master’s call and transitioned from labor to reward, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith and trust in the power of the Word of God.
Born on October 7, 1939, in Miami, Florida to Tommy Oscar Linton, Sr. and Esther Thomas, the gifted musician who traveled the world performing and recording music as a professional drummer became a Baton Rouge native, attended McKinley High School and later earned his GED and theology degree.
For decades, Dr. Linton stood as a bold proclaimer of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He founded Love Outreach Faith Fellowship and Life Changers Christian Center churches and committed his life to preaching the Word with boldness and authority. He was also appointed and served on the EBR Metro Council.
Throughout his years of service, he was more than a pastor—he was a spiritual father and a trusted voice of guidance in Baton Rouge and beyond. His impact reached generations, as many who sat under his teaching went on to serve faithfully in ministry, business, education, and government.
Above all, Dr. Linton was a man devoted to his family. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 57 years, Theresa Freeman Linton; his daughters Amitria Linton, Tommie Jermayne (Calvin) Hall and Bethany Linton; his sons Tommy (Amber) Washington and Jorim (Daisy) Linton; his sisters, Betty Johnson and Constance Rucker; grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; three of his siblings, Vincent Johnson, Donald Johnson and Dorothy Cooper.
Though his voice has grown silent on this side of eternity, the seeds he planted continue to bear fruit. His teachings echo in the hearts of those he discipled. His prayers still cover the lives he nurtured. His legacy stands as a monument to a life fully surrendered to God.
“God is with me. I have nothing to fear.”
Dr. Tommy O. Linton, Jr.’s life reminds us that faith lived boldly leaves footprints that time cannot erase. He will be deeply missed, yet his influence will remain for generations to come.
