Tonja Gaston, a licensed cosmetologist and life-long resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Tonja passed unexpectedly on October 17, 2021 at the age of 49. She was surrounded by her loved ones at The Ochsner Hospital, in New Orleans. The family will strive to honor her memory by living their lives to the fullest.
Tonja affectionately known as Dinky, loved listening to music, going to church, laughing, cooking, eating out, shopping, cutting hair, and enjoyed being with her family and friends. Tonja was loved by everyone.
Tonja touched the lives of many people with her kind and gentle heart, and generosity. She will always be loved as a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and an amazing friend.
Tonja was preceded in death by her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Napoleon Gaston Sr., Marshall Collins and Idell Beverly Collins; Aunt; Constance Gaston and Linda Alexander. Cousins: Sandra Fort, Agnes Johnson, Michael Wayne Fort and Thomas Williams Jr., Leonard Gaston Jr. and Charles Stewart Sr.
Tonja leaves behind to cherish her memories: parents, Napoleon Gaston Jr. and Gloria Gaston, Sisters; Anyieta Murphy, Constance and Eurica Gaston; Brothers: Leonard, Jimmy, and Montreal Gaston. Two sister in laws; Linda Williams and Ashley Gaston, one brother in law; Wayne Murphy. Great Aunt; Alice Fort Aunts; Delena Stewart, Carolyn Stewart and Ernestine Williams. Host of Nieces and Nephews.
A devoted niece, Angie Gaston. A devoted friend Reginald Evans and Shirlaker Alexander.
Our family would like to thank Derrick Bryant for all his love and support for Tonja throughout the years. Derrick and "Stinky Dinky" were truly unconditional friends.
