Wilfred Lincoln Charles, Jr. was born on November 11, 1958, in New Orleans, LA, to the union of Lydia Williams Charles and Wilfred Lincoln Charles, Sr.
He was a Hebrew Israelite who devoted his life to serving Ahaya through ministry and sharing his knowledge of Ahayas word. He grew up in St. Rose, LA, and was educated in the St. Charles Parish school system. He attended Catholic schools at a young age and graduated from Destrehan High School, in 1977. He was a stand out running back in middle and high school, and he entered Southern University and A&M College in 1977 on an athletic scholarship. In 1979, he was the very first athlete from Southern University to be voted MVP of the Southern-Grambling Bayou Classic. Following graduation, he worked as a mechanical engineer for over 30 years with various companies across the U.S. After he retired, he dedicated his time to mentoring throughout the community.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Gillie-Charles; 5 sons, Wilfred Lincoln Charles III, Wardell Charles, Wendell Charles, Francois Charles, and Michael Robertson; 3 step-children, Nena-Marie Morrison, Olivia Morrison, and Jacques Lee, Jr.; 6 grandchildren, Carleone Charles, Diamond Charles, Daysia Charles, Genesis Charles, K'Shon Charles, and Raine Lawson; 4 sisters, Bonnie Marbley (Floyd), Lynette Ann Fountain (Keith), Sherry Stephens (Elder Stanley), Donna Woolford (Lloyd); m 3 brothers, Hernan Charles (Shelia), Arthur Lee Jones, Chester Charles (Diana); and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 5 siblings, Valerie Williams, Sharon Kelly, James Charles, Leverne Charles, and Everette Eugene.
