William Perkins was born on September 28, 1927 in Clinton, Louisiana. He was the eldest of four children, to the union of his father Nathan Perkins and his mother the late Idella Perkins. On July 17th 2017, William Perkins was called to his heavenly home. He will be remembered as a hardworking, caring & loving father. We were very proud of him. He was a World War II Veteran and he also worked for the U. S. Postal Service until he retired. He then worked Security at the State Capital. William leaves behind to cherish his two daughter. Ms. Clyntie Martin of Baton Rouge, La., and Ida Coleman also of Baton Rouge, La. He leaves behind to celebrate his legacy of love and compassion, his companion Theresa Ennis. He also leaves to cherish in his memory a sister Joyce Perkins; a host of grandchildren Damieon Martin, Donte' Martin, Robert L. Martin III, & William Martin, a nephew Jason Perkins & 8 great grandchildren. William also leaves to cherish a host of loving family & friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Nathan Perkins, & Idella Perkins, two sisters Helen Brent, & Olivia Green of Chicago, IL & of Baton Rouge. The Perkins Family has lived in their community for over 70 years. William was also preceded in death by his four wives Modelia W. Perkins from Texarkana, Texas, Barbara Perkins from Chicago, Illinois, Joyce Perkins from Chicago, Illinois, Texas, Myrtle Perkins from Baton Rouge, La.
