A. T. James Bertrue Kinard Jr., was born on Thursday, July 30, 1953. He was the first-born son to A.T., James Bertrue Kinard Sr., and Essie Louise Gardner Parker Kinard, in Holly Springs, MS. He was the oldest of two children born into this union. He was tired and living for him succumbed to an end Friday evening September 25, 2020, at Lakeview Regional Hospital, LA.
Junebug, as Bert, so affectionately called by his family, lived most of his adult life as a resident of Baton Rouge, LA. On Saturday, the third of December, Two-Thousand and Five, Bert declared his love for and married Timica Shantel Gaines, who he called his friend, no matter what. Prior to moving there, he had grownup actively taking part in church at Asbury United Methodist Church, boy scouts, playing football at his school; he attended and graduated from St. Mary’s School with honors. As a young teenager he always kept a job at a local grocery store, stocking shelves and making deliveries riding a bicycle. Bert never traveled in a large circle of friends. There was always Eddie, Howard, Alan, and Joe. Bert began wearing sneakers and jeans late in life; he always wanted prided himself a well-dressed young man. His greatest act of kindness was to live with and care for his sister during a time both he and her needed most. Bert could outwalk the average person even well into his sixty’s, and he knew absolutely everything, hands down.
He leaves to celebrate his uniting with Jesus Christ and to cherish memories his loving and devoted wife Timica Shantel Kinard and his beloved “butterfly” Brae’Leigh Kinard, one son, Akil (Priscilla) Kinard, his daughter-n-law, two granddaughters, one brother, Christian James Parker, Orange, CA., one sister, Alicia Marie (Roman) Bing, Martinez, GA.,two God-daughters, two very committed friends, Howard Smith, and Grace Ozwalt, along with a host of uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who no doubted will miss him.
Bert follows in death his parents, Bert Sr. and Essie Kinard, a sister, and brother-in-law Doris Jean (Ransom) Williamson and one sister-in-law, Judith Parker of Orange, CA.
