Kim La Mark Hurndon

March 29, 1954 ~ February 3, 2020 (age 65)

Kim La Mark Hurndon aka Kim La Mark Bolton was born in Barstow, California on March 29, 1954, son of the late Lee Hurndon and Florida Mae Hines. Kim attended Union Baptist church in the city of Barstow where he served on the junior deacon board.

The family relocated to Pomona, California where Kim attended Pomona High School.  He took up boxing as a sport and was being sought out by scouts.  Upon graduating from high school, Kim entered the workforce and was employed with General Dynamics.  He also met his childhood sweetheart, Monica Anderson, who would bear 4 of his 5 children in the mid to late 70’s.  In 1995, he was blessed with his fifth child with Detria Jones.

Kim had gifted hands.  He could repair anything from a television to an engine in a car.  He would say "That's that Bolton blood". A saying that continues to flow from his children's mouth this very day.  Kim also had a giving heart.  If you needed something and he had it to give, it quickly and cheerfully transferred from his hands to yours.

Kim worked for "On The Mark" construction company under the ownership of Julie Glasser.  Kim started off as a window washer and was quickly promoted to Foreman where he supervised his own crew and maintained the upkeep of the company vehicles.  Kim and Julie entered into a relationship and were inseparable.

Kim relocated to Baton Rouge, Louisiana with Julie in 2014.  He occasionally attended the local church on Sunday mornings and weekly bible studies with his neighbors.  One of Kim's favorite pastimes was watching old Western shows (Gun Smoke, Rawhide, anything with John Wayne; just to name a few).  Kim will be remembered for his contagious laugh, beautiful smile, awesome sense of humor and his warm welcoming spirit.  He was a Son, Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandpa, Companion, Cousin, Friend but most of all he was a Child of God.  So, this is not goodbye but rather “See you later”.

Kim was preceded in death by his parents Lee Hurndon and Florida Mae Hines; his siblings:  Zachary Hennison and Bridgett Rhoulac; Those left to cherish his memories are: his sisters, Wanda Rodgers, Linda Salmon, June Lagail Leonard, Pamela Tilman, Veronica Penny Sanders; his children:  Kim (Derron) Belle, Wayne (fiance Walida) Bolton, Collivia (Demond) Jackson, Damar (Keneyetea) Bolton, Keon (fiance Lauryn) Bolton; thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
