Marva Dean Poche was born on September 28, 1943, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to the late Thelma and Clarence Poche. She took her journey from her home on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, to reach her heavenly destination. Marva gave her life to Christ and was baptized at an early age. Marva was the eldest sister who helped assist her mom with cooking, cleaning, and clothing
her siblings. As she got older she kept that passion for helping others. Marva attended Capitol Senior High School and McKinley Senior High School. She later received her GED from St. Paul Catholic Church and obtained her license to be a chef. She then worked at The Louisiana School for the Deaf and Maison Des Ami Boarding Care where she was a cook for many years. She was a great chef and enjoyed cooking for everyone. Marva enjoyed listening to gospel sermons in the morning while drinking her coffee. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching her favorite tv shows, and gaming. Marva loved spending time with her grandchildren whenever she could. Oh and let’s not forget, she enjoyed fellowshipping on the phone with her cousins Raymond, Cloyd, Audrey, and her sister-in-law Regina. She leaves to cherish her most precious memories, her children, Gerald Poche (Syprenia) and Tonya Ross (Michael); five grandsons, Marcus Landry Sr. (Kimberly), Gerald Morgan, Pierre Poche, Renaldo Poche Sr., and Michael Ross Jr.; nine great-grandchildren, Marcus Jr., A’Zyriah, Bri’Yonna, Kierra, Keithan, Renaldo Jr., Rilynn, Aiden, and Royce; two sisters, Patricia Penn (Alford) and Mary Poche; two sisters-in-law, Regina Poche and Robin Poche; a devoted aunt, Irene Schineaux; a loving uncle, Curtis Harris and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Marva was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Clarence Poche; four brothers, Lawrence, Alvin, Harry, and Milton Poche; and one sister, Rosemary Poche.
