Pastor M. Corey Freeman, born August 3, 1979 to the union of Richard and Fanzeta Freeman, departed this life into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Friday, November 13, 2020. He accepted Christ at a very early age and was baptized at Community Bible Baptist Church by the late Rev. Lee T. Wesley. Corey’s early education began at First Christian Academy, continuing at Capitol Senior High School and The Southern University A&M of Baton Rouge. Corey later enlisted into the United Sates Air Force (926th Services Flight Barksdale) in 2001 until 2011.
Corey Pastored Redeeming Grace Fellowship Church of Baton Rouge (est. March 2020), the Youth and Young Adult Minister, Christian growth hour Discipler, Commitment worker, Missions Ministry work, Associate Minister, Drummer and former Choir President at the Community Bible Baptist Church. Corey was a proud brother of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and was known to his “Bruhs” as Apa”QUE”ypse. Corey was the defensive coordinator for the Louisiana Eagles Semi-pro Football Team, which he was very devoted to. Corey was an employee at Momentum Building Services, LLC in Geismar, LA. Corey was united in Holy Matrimony to Christiana Freeman on September 25, 2013, officiated by the late Lee T. Wesley at Community Bible Baptist Church.
Leaving to cherish his wonderful memories are his loving wife, Christiana Freeman; Children, Darrien Clark and Sydni Thigpen; Two grandchildren, Reign and Radyn Clark; Loving mother, Franzeta Freeman; Two sisters Sylvia Freeman Houston TX, and Roslyn Steward (Detrick) Geismar, LA; One brother, Darren Freeman (Lynn) Houston TX; God parents, Roger and Dianne Ellis, Donna Horton; Godson, Jashtan Brown; A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, god sisters, god brothers, other relatives and friends.
Corey was preceded in death by his Father, Richard Freeman, Sr; Brother, Richard Freeman, Jr; Father in law, Emile Clark; God Father, Winn Self; God brother, Markell Legarde; Nanny , Patricia Wessinger, a host of aunts and uncles.
