On Wednesday October 14, 2020 at the age of 67 lost his battle with cancer and heart disease at Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge and transitioned to his new home to spend his Eternity with Heavenly Father.
He was born the seventh child of the late LZ Clay and Lilly Mae Mosley of Houston, Texas and was the husband of Mary Aubert-Clay. He was a graduate of Kashmere High School, Houston, Texas and attended Texas Southern and ITT Technical College. He was a retired Journeyman Pipe Fitter, Machinist. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Mary Aubert-Clay, stepson Howard Aubert, MD, daughter Talya Clay, step-daughters Danni Gulledge-Ingle and Tara Gulledge, sisters Joyce, Gloria, LeVerne, Sharon, Shelia (Neal), Ruthie (McKinley), Karen (Raymond), brothers Lloyd, Melvin, William, Kenneth and Mark (Antoinette), Uncle WA Clay, godchild Ashlynn Cleveland, seven sisters-in-law, six brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, LZ and Lilly Mae Mosely-Clay, four sisters, Terry Clay-Whitfield, Vanessa Harris, Henrietta Armstrong and Melva Brown, one brother Paul Clay, and former wife Dixie Gulledge-Clay.
Visitation will be held at Winnfield Funeral Home, 7221 Plank Road in Baton Rouge on Thursday October 22, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday October 23, 2020 at The Church of Christ of Latter-Day Saints 10335 Highland Road in Baton Rouge, viewing from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Memorial Service will be held from 11:00 to 12:00. Funeral service will be held on Saturday October 24, 2020 at Greater Star Missionary Baptist Church, 5520 Cruse Road, Houston, Texas.
