Willie Lee Williams was born January 8th, 1942, in Burtville, Louisiana, to the late Marie T. and Charles Willie Williams, Sr. Willie was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, LA. He completed his earthly assignment at 8:30 A.M on January 8th at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA, after succumbing to injuries received after suffering from a fall. Willie was baptized at an early age at Ebenezer Baptist Church on Missouri Street in Baton Rouge, LA, and later attended Greater Beulah Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, LA.
Willie attended McKinley High School and worked at Baton Rouge Water Company for more than forty years, ending his tenure as a supervisor upon his retirement.
To many, Willie was known as “Fox,” “Bro,” or “Crow.” He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends, attending a good festival, and working in his yard.
Willie leaves to cherish his memories his daughters Erica L. Williams and Errin Williams (Bernard) Gaines of Baton Rouge, LA; stepson, Iram Andre (Laurianne) Toney of LaPlace, LA. Grandsons Jaren Gaines and Jase Gaines of Baton Rouge; and Brandon Toney of LaPlace, LA; brothers Royal Lawrence (Sandy) Williams; Alfred James (Checketa) Williams ; and Edward (Brenda) Williams all of Baton Rouge, and Stanley (Birgitt) Williams of Gulfport, MS; sisters, Corine Morgan, Audrey Morris, and Joyce Williams all of Baton Rouge; sister-in-laws Brenda Sago and Marguerite Rheams of Denham Springs, LA and Ruth Rheams of Watson, LA; brother-in-law Eugene (Hattie) Rheams of Baton Rouge, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Rheams Williams, the love of his life, whom he was married to for fifty-one years; his parents; his brother Charles Willie Williams, Jr; and his sister Rose Mary Williams
